We aim to bring the most inspiring musical experiences to both audiences and participants, whether in traditional venues like concert halls, churches and schools, or unconventional spaces like libraries, swimming pools, and even car-parks!
In 2014/15 we invested £168.2 million in music organisations and musicians across all kinds of genres. One hundred and two organisations currently receive regular funding as part of our National Portfolio, ranging from large-scale opera companies and orchestras, to independent music producers and local music teaching and participation organisations.
We want music to be enjoyed by all and our focus is on identifying new talent and finding new audiences through touring, digital media, and presenting music in fresh and surprising ways.
